The passenger, William Verlyn Parris, 54, also of Centre, was ejected from the vehicle upon striking the first guardrail. The single-vehicle crash occurred Monday night on County Road 22 approximately 12 miles east of Centre requiring a landing-zone to be set up near the scene of the accident by members of the McCord’s Fire Department for helicopter transport. So that William Verlyn Parris could be airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn, for treatment.
